What can be done about all of these grasshoppers?
Grasshoppers are becoming a big problem again this year in hay meadows and lawn and garden areas. These pest can eat up gardens before owners become aware of them and can strip the leaves off of bermuda grass before you know it.
The following is a list of products that will work and where they can be used:
Acephate (Orthene) use at 1/8-1/6 pounds/acre, many trees, shrubs flowers, hay fields
Carbaryl (Sevin) ½-1 ½ pounds/acre most fruits and vegetables, turf, most trees, shrubs and flowers, pastures and hayfields
