What can I use in my garden for all the insects that are eating my garden plants?
Once your get the water going on your garden and everything starts to look good, you notice a hole in a leaf here, and a shriveled leaf there and before you know it, your whole garden is infested with bugs. But don't worry, it happens to all of us. Luckily there is a way to treat these pests before the eat up your garden.
Insecticidal Soap. A completely organic liquid that will control aphids, mites, mealybugs, thrips, whiteflies, and many more. This products can be used on just about everything.
Garlic Barrier. Another completely organic liquid that is made up of garlic and water. This product becomes odorless in minutes and can be used on vegetables, fruits, nuts and much more.
Orange TKO. Mixed at 2 ounces/gallon will control aphids, gnats and whiteflies. For more delicate plants, mix 1 ounce/gallon.
Sevin Dust. Sevin dust in the old standby when it comes to insects on plants. It still works.
Remember to read the label carefully on whatever you use because the plants you spray will eventually be eaten by you. That's why I like the organic insect controls a little better but use what you think is best.
My quote of the week comes from Mario Andretti. It reads, "If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough."
