What is this new product called Cimarron
If you have noticed a new product in the agricultural magazines lately and have no idea what it is used for then this should help. DuPont has re-introduced the old chemical called Ally and renamed it Cimarron. This product has the same formulation as before, a 60% dry flowable an also the same application rates, ranging from 0.1 oz/A for control of annual broadleaf weeds up to 1 oz/A to control tough perennial broadleaf weeds. Don’t be confused by all the new packaging that you see. It’s the same old product with a new face. Since DuPont’s patent has expired, it is trying to re-launch Ally under the new name to keep interest in the product. DuPont has also came out with a product called Cimarron Max, a co-pack of Cimarron and dicamba plus 2,4-D (Ally and Weedmaster). Recommended application rates are 5 oz of Cimmarron and 2.5 gallons Weedmaster to 5, 10, or 20 acres depending on your target weed. Remember Ally is NOT a a restricted use herbicide. This means you DO NOT need a license to buy it.
