My dogs keep digging in the flower beds. What can I do?
Pets can be a problem in gardens. The soil is usually a little bit cooler than others so that's the place to be during the summer. There are some ways to keep your pets out though. Try some of these and see how they work.
1. Sprays = Try products such as "Get-Out-Of-My-Garden. This is more like jello than a spray but it does work. Sprinkle it around the areas you want the pets out of.
2. Wire = Before you plant your flower beds, lay down a few wire panels. These come in lengths of 16 and 20 foot but can be cut to any size. The panels have plenty of space between the wires for plants to grow up through but they are small enough to make it hard on pets to dig through. This also works well in pens that animals dig out of.
3. Pepper = Try to sprinkle a little hot pepper around the areas animals tend to dig. This can have a very positive influence on them.
Any of these should work well in controlling the digs in your flower beds.
My quote of the week comes from Mark Twain. It reads, "All you need in life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure."
