I have a wasp problem.  How can I get rid of them without getting stung?

Wasp and bees can be a real nuisance especially when they build nests close to places we frequent.  Although they are largely beneficial, eating caterpillars and other destructive insects, when they are disturbed, even accidentally, they can attack.  And the bad thing is they don't hold back on children, elderly people, animals or anything else.
So what can you do to deter them from hanging out around the sandbox?  The best thing to do is get rid of the nest.  Go to the nest at night with a light and an aerosol like a Wasp & Hornet with a propulsion spray.  If you don't see any wasps, go ahead and spray the nest.  Sometimes they may congregate on the back of the nest out of normal sight.  Then, after all the wasps are dead, take a pole and knock the nest down.  You may occasionally come across a few more over the next week or so that are trying to find the nest but they shouldn't interfere with you.

My quote of the week comes from Burt Bacharach.  It reads, "A synonym is a word you use when you can't spell the word you first thought of."
