Now that I have my potatoes, how do I need to plant them?

Planting potatoes require a little more work than just sticking the spud in the ground and covering them up with dirt, but not much more.  The first thing you need to do is cut them up to where each piece has at least two eyes.  If your not sure what and eye is, take a good look at the potato.  You should see many areas that have a little root growing out of them. On large potatoes, there could be 8-10 eyes.  After cutting, let the new parts dry overnight to help prevent rotting.  Plant them the next day at a depth of 2-3 inches and approximately 12 inches apart.  Cover them up and your ready to grow.

My quote of the week comes from an unknown author.  It reads, "The future lies before you, like paths of pure white snow.  Be careful how you tread it, for every step will show."
