What can be used to get rid of skunk smell?

Most people that have pets and live in the country know what it's like to have them sprayed by a skunk.  They will eventually wear the smell off but it could take several days and even a couple of weeks.  Here are a few ideas that will help eliminate the smell from your place or your pet.
The following products are things you can find at your local grocery store:
1 quart of Hydrogen Peroxide
 ¼ cup of baking soda
1 teaspoon of liquid soap.
Mix the ingredients and soak the animal down while the mixture is bubbling, wait a few minutes and wash him off with water, the peroxide could possibly bleach the animals hair.  The soap will help break down the skunk oil and the baking soda/peroxide mix changes the chemical composition of the odor.
Another product that has been said to work is tomato juice.  The only problem is it will turn your poodle pink. Other products include Vinegar, vanilla extract, and even orange juice.
To get the smell out of your house, try setting out several pans of dry fresh ground coffee.  One cup of liquid bleach per gallon of water is also said to get rid of the smell around the house but be careful not to bleach anything.
My quote of the week comes from an unknown source.  It reads, " The secret to success is; find out where people are going and get there first."
