What kinds of fish food are there and how much should I be feeding my?

For our area there are two main types of fish food, the following information will break down the difference between the two.

Game Fish Chow= Multiple particle for all sizes of fish including catfish, bass, bluegill and  minnows, a floating ration, 32% protein, added vitamin C, this formula enhances production of forage fish which will enhance production and numbers of game fish.  For bait fish in clear lakes, start out feeding 1% of total fish body weight/day.(2000 pounds of fish= 20 pounds of feed/day), feed should increase with growth of bait fish.
Aquamax Floating= Mainly used to feed catfish,  32 % protein, 100% nutritionally complete, contains Vitamin C, high digestibility, One particle size, floating ration, feeding rates should increase along with water temperature.
These are the two most popular types in our area but they are not the only ones available.  There are feeds specifically made for trout, hybrid striped bass, yellow perch, red drum and tilapia.
With most feeds, fish should be able to consume the amount you give them in 15-20 minutes, adjust feeding rates accordingly.  In smaller ponds reduce feeding amounts when water temperatures exceed 85 degrees and do not feed when water temperatures reach 90 degrees or in hot, still, cloudy weather.  Try to feed fish at the same time every day and twice a day during high fish activity.

My quote of the week comes from Milton Berle.  It reads, "I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star.  I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might-have-been has never been, but a has was once an are."
